Why Would This Affect Us In SINGAPORE?

Like it or not, American culture has permeated all aspects of our lives from streaming services to content platforms to movies and even music. Likewise, on TikTok - American content creators like Charlie D’Amelio, Bella Poarch, Addison Rae have large followings in the US and elsewhere starting trends, dances, slangs all on TikTok. If the TikTok ban does go through - the fabric of content on the FYP’s across the globe will be affected, for better or for worse.

What should my brand dO?

Great question, here’s a tip.
Absolutely… nothing.

Why? Because, ironically in a social media landscape that is continually changing, sometimes having no change is the best way to deal with change. Here’s what we mean in simpler terms: brands should take a wait-and-see approach to wait for how other larger brands are tackling the issue before carrying out their own actions.

Rather than going for quantity over quality - and adding one more platform to be managed to the mix, brands especially those based in Asia should continue their TikTok content strategy. Continue shooting the right mix of videos, carousels because as of right now, there is no other platform out there that can garner your brand the same level of awareness and reach as TikTok can.
